One drive files download corrupt
It gives you an overview of what has happened to your OneDrive over time and it can help you identify any unusual activities. For example, if your OneDrive was infected by malware, you can look for when it happened.
The activity feed shows individual file and folder operations in reverse chronological order. You can scroll down to see previous days, or move the slider below the daily activity chart to quickly move to a specific day.
Tip: Use the expand and collapse arrow next to each day in the activity feed to show or hide activities for that day.
If you selected Custom date and time , select the earliest activity that you want to undo. When you select an activity, all other activities that occurred after that are selected automatically. Note: Before you select Restore , scroll to the top of the activity feed to review all the activities you are about to undo. When you pick a day in the activity chart, the more recent activities are hidden in the feed, but they're still selected when you select an activity. This action will undo all the activities you selected.
Note: If you change your mind about the restore you just did, you can undo the restore by running Files Restore again and selecting the restore action you just did. When version history is turned off, Files Restore can't restore files to a previous version. For information about versioning settings, see Enable and configure versioning for a list or library.

An attempt to open the remote server version of the same files in browser from the SharePoint web page lead me to the same result - "The file can't be opened Those files where uploaded to OneDrive quite a while ago and they were accessible before. So I decided to look into Version History hoping to restore a proper version from there. How surprised I got when I figured out that current corrupted version was the only one record in the history. Another weird discovery was the modified date of the file not matching the modified date of that history entry record:.
I then decided to look inside the file and try to figure out what those apps meant when saying "corrupted". I found this:.
This happened to me with the paid Office Family subscription. But even if you're subscribed to Office Business and you think you could "rest assured", you're wrong, unfortunately. I'm experiencing exactly the same issue with my Office Business subscription too. But in this case I'm able to restore some of the files. Here I'm able to see the "corrupted" version and the previous one in the version history:.
The only difference is "Modified By" field real names are blurred intentionally, but they are different , e. I was able to "fix" the file by restoring it to a lower version number. I'm afraid that in case of personal OneDrive storage, the uncorrupted version is lost or not displayed which makes file content lost forever. I shared all of this with the support and still received a " But I would appreciate any thoughts or comments on this from Community as the situation itself is very frustrating.
